Welcome to “Our Water
World”, the website of the Wisconsin Water Association (WWA) Youth Education
sub-Committee.
WWA is a 900-member state section of the American Water Works Association,
professionals dedicated to providing a safe and ample supply of drinking water.
Our newly formed Youth Education sub-Committee is developing methods to educate
students to be responsible stewards of water resources and to raise interest in
the numerous careers in the drinking water or water resources industry.
This website is useful for teachers, parents, and students to find educational
information covering a variety of water related topics.
Take a look to find…
Educational Resources – Documents and links about water topics such as sources
of drinking water, treatment, and conservation. These resources include
national water issues and issues that are unique to our great state of
Wisconsin.
Events – Do you have a water related event in your area? Contact us
and we can include it in the calendar.
Adventure Kids Learning Expedition – An on-line learning adventure that started in April
2008. Members of WWA traveled to Guatemala for a water project and connected
with some classrooms in Wisconsin schools through a satellite modem, laptop, and
webcam. This was the beginning of what will continue to be an exciting project.
